Vanora Kennel is the result of a journey that has germinated over the past decade.

My introduction into the "World of Dogs" began when I adopted a little blue merle male Australian Shepherd.  Together "Denny"  Can Ch. Ashdansar's Bold Navy Seal CDX CD RN CGN ASCA CD and I would learn so much about the various dog sports! Little did I know this boy would turn out to be my shadow and such a keen obedience student!

Another "Dog Wish" came true when after a lot of research and much waiting; I was fortunate enough to acquire a beautiful Gordon Setter puppy. The wait was truly worth it. I can not say THANK YOU enough to Beverly Holoboff of SureShot Gordon Setters for sharing and co-owning "Mira"  with me.  Mira has allowed me to appreciate all that is special about Gordon Setters. We have had a lot of fun in the ring over the past 4 years. Mira's forays into the ring have earned her the position with CKC as the #1 Gordon Setter Female in Canada for 2007 and the #5 Gordon over all! We are very proud of this girl;  "Mira"   CAN Ch.  FCC Ch. SureShot Chosen One CGN !

Today you may find me at various Conformation Shows, along with Formal and Rally Obedience Trials throughout the Maritimes. When not showing, I may be training dogs or teaching obedience classes to the public and their dogs. I am an advocate for obedience training and good socialization for our dogs. I can not stress the importance of getting out and having FUN with your dogs!

At present I am a member of the Cape Breton Kennel Club, Cape Breton German Shepherd Dog Club, Maritime Group 7 Club and I am the Atlantic Director for the Gordon Setter Club of Canada. I recently was accepted as a member of the Gordon Setter Club Of America!
I am also pleased to say I have been granted approval by the CKC to judge all classes in Rally Obedience. I am also approved to complete Canine Good Neighbor testing for various clubs.
